About
Stamp Duty Atlas is a free iOS app that produces estimates of UK property transaction taxes β Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) for England and Northern Ireland, Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) for Scotland, and Land Transaction Tax (LTT) for Wales. It covers residential, mixed-use, and commercial property, with rate tables verified against HMRC, Revenue Scotland, and the Welsh Revenue Authority.
The app runs entirely on your device. There is no backend, no account, no advertising, and no third-party tracking.
Reference Use Only
Stamp Duty Atlas provides numerical estimates for reference only.
It is not tax, legal, or financial advice. No duty of care is assumed by the developer in respect of any user.
Do not rely on its output without independent verification by a qualified solicitor, conveyancer, accountant, or directly with HMRC, Revenue Scotland, or the Welsh Revenue Authority before completing any property transaction.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer accepts no liability for any loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in this notice limits liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Users are required to read and accept these terms in-app on first launch before the calculator becomes available.
Privacy
Stamp Duty Atlas does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All calculations happen on your device.
The app does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking identifiers.
The only data the app retains locally on your device is a single boolean flag recording whether you have accepted the in-app first-launch acknowledgment, so that you are not prompted again on subsequent launches. This flag does not leave your device.
Apple may collect standard App Analytics and crash diagnostics in connection with apps installed from the App Store. This is governed by Apple's own privacy practices, not by us β see Apple's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of sharing analytics with developers in your iPhone's Settings β Privacy & Security β Analytics & Improvements.
You have rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 in respect of any personal data we process. As we do not process any personal data directly, those rights are exercised primarily against Apple in respect of App Store analytics. Should you wish to contact us about anything in this notice, write to privacy@stampdutyatlas.co.uk. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Terms of Use
Use of Stamp Duty Atlas is subject to the terms presented in-app on first launch. By tapping "I Understand & Accept" you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted those terms β they form the operative agreement between you and the developer.
In summary, those terms make clear that:
- The app provides numerical estimates only.
- It is not tax, legal, or financial advice, and no duty of care is assumed by the developer.
- You must not rely on the app's output without independent verification.
